Engagement Center awarded ASPA honor

CINCINNATI— The Hamilton County Engagement Center was honored for Program Excellence at the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration’s (GCC-ASPA) annual award luncheon. The luncheon, held in April, honors individuals for their work in public administration including government, education, and the nonprofit sector.

The Engagement Center is a triage unit for individuals struggling with opiate addiction. The goal of the program is to connect men and women with immediate support as well as access to treatment services. Since opening in May 2018, the Engagement Center has served over 500 patients. Talbert House and the Engagement Center are honored to be recognized by the GCC-ASPA for their work in combatting the opioid epidemic.

Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board President and CEO, Pat Tribbe, says, "We are pleased to support this important component of our opiate response efforts. By diverting medically stable, post-overdose patients to the Engagement Center, the Center provides a cost effective, immediate treatment alternative that will better ensure the successful recovery of opioid addicted residents.
