2016 "Hour of Code": Cincinnati Regional Kick-off @ Taft IT High School  News  admin  01-Dec-2016  0  466 reads

We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and less students are studying it than a decade ago.

That’s why our entire community is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The HOUR OF CODE, during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 7-13). More than 136 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code.

The event will take place on:

Monday, Dec. 5th, 2016, 6pm-9pm
Taft Information Technology High School
420 Ezzard Charles Dr, Cincinnati, Ohio 45214

The goal is to to bring together organizations, companies, teachers, as well as children from local schools and their parents, to make them aware of IT opportunities in the global world, and to promote IT Education in Cincinnati.

We'll also have a kids competition (elementary school level) for the fastest expert in Code.org's Frozen, with the winner receiving a gift cards.

Complimentary food and refreshments will be provided.
